African XR Realities Lab 2023

VR Capture was invited by Electric South to participate in the African XR Realities Lab 2023, bringing our expertise in volumetric video capture to the creative community. As one of the few companies extensively testing and using volumetric capture for over six years, we primarily work with the Depthkit system by Scatter, refining techniques that push the boundaries of immersive storytelling.

During the lab, we collaborated with digital artists from diverse backgrounds, sharing our knowledge and experience in volumetric filmmaking. It was inspiring to see how artists integrated this technology into their creative projects, exploring new ways to tell stories in XR (Extended Reality).

This initiative by Electric South continues to foster African innovation in immersive media, empowering artists to experiment and create in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. We were honored to contribute, learn, and connect with such a passionate group of storytellers shaping the future of XR.
