Immersive Defense Innovation for Armscor at AAD 2024

VR Capture was brought on by Realm Digital to create an unprecedented 8K 360° VR experience and 4K corporate video for Armscor, bringing South Africa’s strategic defence capabilities to life at the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) 2024 trade show. This project offered international audiences a first-of-its-kind virtual tour of high-security research and testing facilities, allowing them to step inside normally restricted spaces.

Project Overview
Traditional defence presentations often rely on slides, reports, and limited-access footage. VR Capture pushed beyond these boundaries, creating a fully immersive experience where viewers could:
🚀 Explore top defence sites, from Centurion Technopark to the Alkantpan Ballistic Test Range.
⚙️ Step inside advanced testing facilities and feel the hum of innovation through spatial audio.
🔊 Engage with cutting-edge aerospace and maritime technology as if physically present.

This 7-minute 8K VR showcase and 6-minute 4K corporate film were designed to captivate investors, defense leaders, and international stakeholders, offering a dynamic and engaging alternative to traditional presentations.

Execution
Filming high-security sites presented a unique challenge, requiring close collaboration with Armscor’s security and operations teams. To ensure a seamless, high-quality production, we employed:
📷 State-of-the-art 360° Cameras – Capturing stunning 11K and 8K visuals for maximum clarity.
🎨 Custom Animations – Transforming complex defense technology into visually compelling narratives.
🎧 Spatial Audio Recording – Recreating the authentic atmosphere of each facility with immersive sound design.

Despite a tight deadline, VR Capture delivered a high-impact, visually stunning project, demonstrating our expertise in high-end immersive media production.
