In 2022, VR Capture partnered with Henley Business School to develop an immersive 360º VR training experience for Transnet, South Africa’s leading freight logistics company. Designed as a cutting-edge learning tool, the project aimed to help employees understand and improve operations along the Container Corridor, a vital freight route between Durban and Johannesburg.
Using 8K 360º cameras, heavy-lifting drones, and immersive storytelling, the VR experience placed employees inside key operational environments, including Durban Harbour, container yards, and the rail network. A futuristic narrative featuring protagonist Gugu Mkhize guided users through real-world logistical challenges, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving.
Transnet’s leadership praised the engaging and interactive format, recognizing it as a revolutionary step forward in workforce training. This project showcases VR Capture’s expertise in blending technology and storytelling to create powerful, future-focused learning experiences.
